The golden era of gaming may be gone, but it certainly hasn’t been forgotten!
Welcome to the Factory Sealed podcast, the finest example of retro gaming listening you’re likely to find on this side of the great 16 bit river.
Brought to you from three time zones in three different countries, Factory Sealed unites Eric Pederson, Dan Curtis, Tom Ragan, and Mike Tyson to talk all things retro gaming ranging from a completely non-biased obsession with Mega Man to which ancient cart racer is truly the king of them all.
If hearing “SEGA!” still sends chills down your spine or you’ve developed an acute case of gamer’s asthma from blowing profusely into those stubborn NES cartridges, you’re in good company here.
Every two weeks we decide on an old game to play, proceed to usually be terrible at it and then tell you what we thought. That’s if we can actually get a word in as one of us goes off on a mildly-related tangent which soon descends into nonsense.
On the odd occasion, we’ll also host special retro gaming shows where our team tackle a ridiculously long RPG and break it down disc by disc. This has prompted such discussions as ‘Is Squall really dead for most of FFVIII after being stabbed in the heart by a giant icicle?’ and other great insights.
Although we specialize in retro games, we are known to actually talk about some modern stuff as well from time to time. It’s all fair game here; whether it’s the SNES, Megadrive, Gameboy, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance, Gameboy Color Advance DS (alright, that’s not a thing), NES, Xbox, Xbox 360, PlayStation or an obscure game cabinet tucked away in the depths of a dingily lit arcade inhabited only by a heavy breathing man with a suspicious moustache, we’ll talk about it!
Recorded every other Sunday, we’d like to invite you to kick back in your favorite gaming comfy spot, grab a controller and join us as we relive the glorious days of retro gaming.
